It's a nice park with plenty of open space, tennis courts, etc. Only downside is there's no swings. Would recommend

It was a nice breezy hot day, then it rained and it was comfortable, then it stopped raining and it got hot again! Another wonderful day in Indiana!

Lights didn't work on the field my daughter and the rest of the team were playing on during tournaments!! Concessions stand had a bunch if good stuff some things were expensive for ball park food. The parking was a pain since there was so many people. There were stands to sit on but they had seen better days and were Slightly questionable to sit on. Hopefully they get the park in better order before a big tournament again.

I was very disappointed in the New Haven organization today. I took a group of 12 8u allstars from the Marion PAL club, and were kicked out of the tournament after pool play, winning 3 of 4 games. The first reason we were told, was because we had 2 subs we didn't play all 4 games (only 1). Please understand, before the game our manager okayed that the two little sisters weren't going to play and also with the umpires, that they weren't going to play all games. We offered for them to sit in stands if necessary (even though at this ball diamond, the stands were essentially in the dugout) Our two subs were 2 little sisters who couldn't possible play 4 games of softball in one day in the heat. One being my 6 year old daughter, who has to be there anyway for her big sister. We wanted her to be included. The second reason. We were told because we were a travel ball team. That is false. Do we have girls who played travel ball?? Yes. But can a girl not travel out of town to find a travel ball team because her town doesn't offer it??? AND still play in their rec league and allstars? since when can a kid not play two rec leagues? At this point, I now understand why I have girls that travel to marion to be coached and be a part of a league that accepts all kids (thank you to the Marion PAL Club). I am not sure the name of the New Haven head coach, but she obviously does not put kids first. She cussed in front of my kids, yelling and throwing a fit. She was a poor sport when we played their team, and others. My 3rd baseman made a play (a force out) and tagged the runner too.... she is an 8u player. The coach yelled no I'm not doing this. Stopped the game and ran for another board member.... how is a board member coaching an all star team? Conflict of interest. To add to it, this is after she complained that we were taking too long coaching our girls. We develop them to be their best... I thought that was what this is about. I am so sorry my 8u kids had to witness this, and majority had tears to be told they couldn't play in the bracket on Sunday. I am very disappointed on how this worked out for the kids. All I ask, is that in the future, kids be put first in order to better your league. I would also ask that whoever the coach of the New Haven All Stars would be asked to step down. We are all here to help kids and teach them sportsmanship. I know, in my heart, that is not what was displayed today. Kids first. Good luck to all the girls who have worked their butts off to play tomorrow. I am saddened that my 12 girls dont get this opportunity because of adults. In the face of adversity, true character is defined.
